FoxVox Development Blog

July/August 2009
Updated for Firefox 3.5. Both FoxVox and FoxVox Pro have been updated to work with Firefox 3.5.

Several people have been getting an installation error which has nothing to do with FoxVox itself. It concerns Firefox cookie settings:

"Invalid file hash (possible download corruption)-261"

I found a fix for the error on the following page:

http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Unable+to+install+add-ons#Invalid_file_hash_possible_download_corruption_261

It's in the forum at:

Version 1.6 has been released.

FoxVox has proven quite popular since its release only 3 weeks ago. The most requested feature is adding new languages. This has been accomplished in a beta version already and you can download it from the beta section. Development is now concentrating on the following:

  • Simple, automated installation of new voices

  • A stop speaking feature so speech ends when a menu is selected or when new text is sent to be spoken
